Home Building

Responding to the need for homes due to the destruction of Hurricane Isidoro in 2002, YHH continues to build and repair homes for those with scarce economic resources. Many families still face inadequate housing, which produces anxiety from physical illnesses, vulnerability to harsh elements and a general poverty of insecurity, including worrying about family separation during hurricane seasons.

An adequate home provides a stepping stone to better health and futures. The acts of generosity and kindness from building teams transform the lives of families and communities by displaying Christ’s love and God’s power through the unity of his people. Likewise, the hospitality and friendship from host churches here impact the lives of visiting teams who develop a broader vision of God’s kingdom through relationship building.
